The serrated blade slices through ripe tomatoes without squashing them, which was my whole reason for buying it. It's also become my go-to for soft fruit like peaches.
I bought this mainly for citrus and it cuts clean through orange slices without squishing them. The finely serrated stainless blade also handled a ripe tomato with zero crushing, which is more than I can say for my old chef's knife.
The serrated edge on this thing is what makes it — it bites into the skin of a ripe tomato instead of crushing it like my old smooth blade did. I've been using it for citrus too and it handles a lemon without any tearing. Honestly surprised how often I reach for it now.
